Challenge

Despite early adoption of digital innovations, ADKL's work remains characterized by a high number of repetitive and manual tasks. These tasks demand a high degree of accuracy and are particularly time-consuming, posing a significant challenge in maintaining efficiency while ensuring precision.

To address these challenges, ADKL has focused on implementing digital audit documentation, data analysis of mass and accounting data, and cloud-based platforms for client communication and document exchange. These advancements have significantly increased the efficiency and added value of audits for their clients. However, the inherent nature of manual processes still limits the full potential of their digital transformation.

Solution

Since the introduction of DataSnipper, ADKL's documentation and design of working papers have improved considerably. By directly cross-referencing audit procedures to evidence using the Text Snip and Validation Snip, the working papers are more structured and can be viewed more easily by reviewers, clients and other relevant stakeholders. Validation Snip can also be used to mark passages from contracts making them recognizable for all parties reviewing the workbook.

The Table Snip feature allows ADKL to transfer tables from a PDF to an Excel file, eliminating the need to manually recreate tables and saving a considerable amount of time. Sum Snip also replaces the manual and potentially error-prone typing of figures into a calculator, providing the required sum within seconds.

Additionally, ADKL has automated the sample evaluation process using Document Matching. This largely eliminates the need to manually compare individual documents with the sample, further enhancing efficiency and accuracy in their audit processes.

Implementation

After seeing the platform in action, ADKL was able to implement the platform within the company at short notice. Key users were appointed to test DataSnipper on a daily basis, and with the support of the DataSnipper team, ADKL quickly familiarized themselves with the platform, with all questions being answered promptly.

At the end of the test period, they decided to adopt DataSnipper into the audit team’s workflows. Subsequent employee training sessions ensured that all staff quickly became familiar with the product, facilitating a smooth transition and widespread adoption throughout the organization.
